Strip any event to its skeleton and the same equipment layer appears: boundaries, flow control, amenities, water, waste points and a managed car park edge. The industry default is to rent that skeleton annually. Site Direct's proposition is aimed at the organisers for whom that default is quietly irrational, the venues, clubs, councils and committees whose events recur, and who could own the layer outright.
The layer, as a shopping list
- Boundaries: mesh fence packages for perimeters and compounds, TPZ kits where trees are conditioned, assembled per the setup guide
- Flow: crowd barrier packages for queues, chutes and standoffs, designed with the flow craft
- Amenities: the PT toilet range and Redloos value units, counted by the sanitation arithmetic
- Water: the hub for unserviced grounds, the bubbler for permanent venues
- The vehicle edge: cones, extension bars and barrier boards, sequenced by the traffic grammar
- The dressing: banner mesh carrying sponsors and wayfinding, undated for reuse
Who this fits, and who it does not
The fit is the recurring organiser: the showground with a calendar, the club with a season, the council with an events program, the market that runs monthly. For them the payback arithmetic closes within a couple of seasons and the layer becomes an asset.
The honest misfit is the mega event and the one off: kilometres of perimeter, engineered stage barriers, contracted servicing at festival scale, that is hire fleet territory, and the Games scale story explains why fleet depth exists. Site Direct's own family includes that heritage; the store exists for the events underneath that scale, which is nearly all of them.
The operating knowledge, included
Owned equipment needs owned method, so the method is published: planning in 11 steps, fencing selection, festival perimeters, sports days, sustainability. The organiser who reads five guides and buys one kit runs better events than the one who outsources both, at a fraction of the recurring cost.
