Privacy Policy

How we collect, use, and protect your personal information.

Last updated: 1 October 2026

1. Introduction

Site Direct, a trading name of TFH Hire Services Pty Ltd (ABN 30 063 810 679) ("we", "us", "our"), is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your personal information when you use our website www.sitedirect.com.au or our services, in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

2. Information we collect

We may collect:

  • Contact details (name, email, mobile or phone, company name and ABN)
  • Delivery and billing address, and delivery details such as forklift access
  • Order and transaction history
  • What you type into the checkout before you place an order (see section 4)
  • Account credentials (if you create an account)
  • Communications (enquiries, feedback, support)
  • Technical data (IP address, browser type, device information and the pages you visit) when you use our website

Card details are typed into our payment provider's secure payment form. We never see or store your full card number.

3. How we use your information

We use your information to:

  • Process and fulfil orders and deliver products
  • Communicate with you about orders, accounts, and enquiries
  • Improve our website, products, and services
  • Send marketing communications (where you have consented or where permitted by law)

If you give us your email for prices or guides, we will email you about Site Direct products until you unsubscribe, which you can do from any email.

  • Measure which of our advertising brings people to our website
  • Comply with legal obligations and protect our rights

4. Checkout details saved before you order

When you type a valid email address or mobile number into the checkout, we save it with the other details you have entered so far and the items in your cart, even if you do not place the order. We do this so that:

  • if the order is not finished (for example the page closes or the connection drops), one of our sales team can call or email you to help, or to answer a question about delivery; and
  • we can send you a reminder email about the order you started, unless you tick "No marketing emails" at checkout.

Ticking "No marketing emails" stops the reminder and our marketing emails. Emails about an order you have placed still arrive. To have saved checkout details deleted, contact us using the details in section 12.

5. Disclosure of information

We may disclose your information to service providers who help us run the business, including our payment provider, freight and delivery partners, email providers, analytics and advertising providers, and IT and hosting providers. We require them to handle your information in accordance with applicable privacy laws. We may also disclose information where required by law or to protect our rights, safety, or property.

6. Overseas disclosure

Some of our service providers store or process personal information outside Australia, in the United States:

  • Email marketing (Klaviyo): your name, email, phone, and your orders and activity on our website, to send order follow ups and marketing emails.
  • Order and account emails (Twilio SendGrid): your name, email and order details, to deliver the emails we send you.
  • Analytics and advertising (Google Analytics and Google Ads): how you use our website and, when you place an order, a scrambled (hashed) form of your email and phone, so Google can tell us which ads lead to orders without us handing over the details themselves.
  • Website hosting (Vercel): technical data such as your IP address when our website serves a page to you.

Our order database and our website servers are in Sydney. Our payment provider and our freight partners are Australian businesses. We take reasonable steps to make sure overseas providers handle your information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.

7. Storage and security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, interference, loss, unauthorised access, modification and disclosure, including encrypted connections and access limited to staff who need it. We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy or as the law requires, and then delete or de-identify it.

8. Cookies and tracking

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to keep your cart, measure how the website is used (Google Analytics), measure our advertising (Google Ads) and remember your email preferences (Klaviyo). You can adjust your browser settings to refuse cookies; your cart and some other features may not work correctly if you do so.

9. Your rights

You may request access to, or correction of, the personal information we hold about you. You may also opt out of marketing communications at any time, from the unsubscribe link in any marketing email or by contacting us. You can deal with us without giving your name where that is practical, for example when asking a general question, but we need your real details to take and deliver an order.

10. Complaints

If you think we have mishandled your personal information, contact us first using the details in section 12 and tell us what happened. We will look into it and give you a written response within 30 days.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at www.oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The current version will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review it periodically.

12. Contact us
